Lit by Janet and family xxxxx 4th December 2020
As the snow falls today and highlights the excitement of winters and Christmases gone by, we remember the fun we had and the things we do in your honour. From making snowmen with cottonwool, decorating the house with great gusto, building snowman in the garden and sledging. Burning advent candles and opening advent calendars long before the advent of chocolate ones, you made the countdown to Christmas so exciting. From going Carol singing with the choir to donating our toys to the Toy service, not a toy we didn't want, as that was not the lesson you wanted us to learn but one we wanted to keep. Attending all the Church services and particularly remembering the Christingle services, when you warned my children to be careful then caught your jacket on the flame. Although celebrating at Church is different this year, remembering what it meant to you and what you, with Dad, taught us holds dear. Dementia UK and their work holds dear to us and today , I lit a star with Dementia UK to honour you this Christmas and to help support the work that Admiral Nurses do for families who face the cruelties of dementia. May you continue to watch over us ,with God's blessings this Christmas and always xxxx
