Dedicated to the memory of Gladeyes
This tribute is for my late wife Gladys (Gladeyes) who was taken from us on the 3rd of October 2018 aged 83. Gladeyes passed away peacefully in my arms at home with her family around her. Sadly it was Vascular Dementia that finally took her away. Gladeyes was the best thing that ever happened to me. We met in January of 1958 and married at Gretna Green a few months later in August of the same year. She brought 3 wonderful children into the world and loved them in the way that only a mum can love her child. Gladeyes was a fantastic mum, grandma, great grandma & auntie to several nieces and nephews. Her endless creativity and wisdom she used to great effect in raising her family. Always singing or humming tunes. One of her 'for fun' assetts was her extremely loud wolf whistle that often made people turn and smile. However as her illness took over, Gladeyes would whistle at the most awkward and embarrassing of times in x-ray rooms and even in church and once at her brother-in-law's funeral! There never was a dull moment with Gladeyes, she surely was the eternal optimist.

Hardly ever an hour goes by without me having a lovely memory whether it's a laughing memory or simply a quiet thoughtful one. The day will come when we will once more laugh and be blissfully happy again.

Being a family was the most important thing to you, the Lord's family ,your own family and all those you loved around you: friends, neighbours,work colleagues and anyone you met on you life travels.
Yesterday we celebrated as a family your great granddaughter's 11th Birthday in Lockdown. The love of family made it a very Special Day.
Our love for you still strong , miss your laugh, your whistle and your cha cha cha version of Happy Birthday. Xxxx

Candles
For all those shared prayers at St George's today I light my candle at home with my prayer card and flowers from those Mothering Sunday's gone by and in honour of you I light a candle for you and all those Mothers who have had dementia and are at Peace now and for those who's Mother's are living with dementia today . May God and the love of family and Admiral nurses may they make memories to carry them through the darkest days xxx
